Man charged with stealing church’s musical equipment
An Isolo Magistrate's Court in Lagos has remanded in
prison custody a 26-year-old man, Cheka Samuel, for
allegedly stealing musical instruments belonging to a
church.
Presiding Magistrate, Mrs Joy Ugbomoiko, after
granting the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with
one surety in like sum, ordered that he be remanded
in prison custody at Kirikiri, pending when he will
perfect his bail.
However, when the charge was read to the accused,
he pleaded not guilty.
During interrogation at Ajao Estate Police Division,
the accused allegedly revealed that he had no
intention to steal the instruments, but was compelled
to do so because he did not find any money in the
offering box
.
